Grapefruit Exfoliating Scrub

Aprilis Beauty

Aprilis is a new beauty line to me with a slew of new release products:

Face, Body, Oralcare, Makeup, & Hair

I was excited to receive one of their products discounted.

Grapefruit Exfoliating Scrub

Mineral-rich dead sea salt, grape seed oil, citrus paradisi (grapefruit) oil, jojoba oil, sunflower seed oil, sweet almond oil, vitamin E, and sodium lauroyl glutamate.

Scent has an oily / wet smell with undertones of a freshly peeled grapefruit; my favorite essential oil is grapefruit.

The container did not have an inner seal for freshness and to retain moisture within the container which, admittedly, I found odd. All other scrubs I have ever used have an inner seal to ensure no tampering is evident and to keep the contents wet due to the 12-month rule. The box it came in was sealed to a degree I had never seen before, took me a while to peel off the plastic. Even so, you can see the oils have settled into the bottom.

Pictures are with and without lighting to show you different attributes:

The spectrum of the “pink” grapefruit coloring goes from light on top to a darker, saturated look towards the bottom. Grabbing a half teaspoon full of the contents reveals that even though the oils have notably drifted south, you can visibly see the oils spreading onto my skin with no water usage.

When in comparison, this leans towards the abrasive side due to the size of the salt crystals. Oils absorption into my skin is wonderful, leaving it hydrated and revitalized; disolves well with water.

I do not recommend using this as a facial scrub, this product specifically only states arms, legs, and the rest of the body. However the website states you can use this as a facial scrub, just making a note of this.

Conclusion:

Nice scent, exfoliates well, hydrates skin, nourishes with gentle oils, and is comparably priced.
