Fuel The Fun With SKIPPY!

I was, and am, thrilled to have been able to test out five different variations of Skippy Peanut Butter thanks to being a reviewer for ViewPoints.

My kids and I are always on the go creating memories; picnics, splish-splash fun, lunches on-the-go, and so much more. Our go-to pack-up is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, seriously, I actually get put off by them by the end of my kids’ summer break…. Sooooo many.

SKIPPY Creamy

product image

Super creamy peanut butter served up gluten free, but MAY be a produced with genetic engineering. I found this part of the labeling of Skippy interesting, not a put off for me as most things are, at least they label it.

Ingredients: Roasted Peanuts, Sugar, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (Cottonseed, Soybean, and Rapeseed Oil [no clue what this is though]) to prevent separation, Salt.

Did you know that every serving of Skippy Peanut Butter has 7 grams of protein? So, when combined with nutritious foods like whole grain bread, fruit, and milk it helps restore my family’s energy and leaves us feeling charged!

This is creamy, like, super creamy (I sound like my twin tweens now…) and spreads like soft, homemade churned butter. Best analogy I got folks!

Perfect for my daughter who has braces, plus has never been a fan of neither chunky nor peanuts, but is a huge peanut butter fan. Yeah, she’s complicated…..

SKIPPY Reduced Fat Creamy

product image

25% less fat than their (Skippy) regular creamy peanut butter.

Peanut Butter spread with 60% peanuts and 25% less fat making this reduced fat, but with a lengthy list of ingredients when in comparison. Talking about comparing, it is also notably lighter in color, but let’s get back to the ingredients:

Roasted Peanuts, Corn Syrup Solids, Sugar, Soy Protein Concentrate, Salt, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (Cottonseed, Soybean, and Rapeseed Oil) to prevent separation, Mono- and Diglycerides, Minerals (Magnesium Oxide, Zinc Oxide, Ferric Orthophosphate, Copper Sulfate), Vitamins (Niacinamide, Pyridoxine Hydrocholride, Folic Acid).

Okay, what does this mean when compared to the “full” creamy? The reduced fat DOES have more minerals in it to include copper at 10% DV, magnesium 15% DV, Zinc 6% DV, Folic Acid 8%, Niacin 25%, Vitamin B6 6%, and NO Vitamin E like the other non-reduced fat peanut butters by Skippy.

Lots of differences, huh?!

I found this spread of peanut butter to be more up my alley per se when in comparison. Part of a balanced, protein packed delicious snack in my life from sandwiches to apple slices and celery.

Look for the slightly lighter aqua-blue label and lid on the grocery shelves near you.

SKIPPY Super Chunk

I was just sharing a spoonful of this with my eldest son before I wrote this review. Seriously, he LOVES the Extra Crunchy Skippy Super Chunk Peanut Butter.

Why?

Well, he has always been one of two people in our little family (I am the other one) who enjoys eating peanuts, however he has had orthodontics for the last four years and just got the removed three weeks ago.

Simple ingredients listing along with their other regular peanut butter spreads outside of reduced fat; with the good source of vitamin E (10% DV).

I love using Skippy’s Extra Crunchy Chunky peanut butter on sandwiches and in recipes like the ever nostalgic peanut butter cookies.

May be crunchy, but it goes on smooth!

Stands out from the rest of their line with the dark blue label and lid, easy to spot and deliciously crunchy throughout.

SKIPPY Reduced Fat Chunky

product image

Lighter in color and easier on your hips is Skippy’s Reduced Fat Chunky Peanut Butter coming in at a whopping 25% less fat (reduced fat) than their regular chunky peanut butter, but still contains 60% peanuts.

Just like Skippy’s other reduced fat peanut butter, there is a bit more ingredients in their reduced fat to up the ante per se in the mineral department to include copper at 10% DV, magnesium 15%, zinc 6%, folic acid 8%, and vitamin B6 6%, with no vitamin E like the other non-reduced fat spreads.

I noticed a give and take between the two with a subtle difference in the coloring: Spread is notably lighter along with a lighter blue label.

Quality spread, delicious flavor, great to add to those recipes that we love peanut butter in, but am looking for a slightly healthier twist to it.

Right up my alley, loving this 7 grams of protein yumminess!

SKIPPY Natural Chunky w/ Honey

product image

Wow! This immediately disappeared into my youngest son’s hands as soon as it showed up into our kitchen! This is everything he loves in “one super-packed jar of yumminess”! His words, not mine, but pretty accurate.

What comes in this totally unique jar of Skippy Peanut Butter?
(1) Labeled “Super Chunk” for a reason. It’s “extra crunchy”, not smooth which one might think of when spreading with honey.
(2) YEAH BABY! HONEY!
** Ingredients: Peanut Butter Spread (Roasted Peanuts, Palm Oil, Peanut Oil, and Salt), Sugar, Honey.
(3) Did you know that Skippy Natural Peanut Butter Spread with Honey is all natural, contains NO hydrogenated oil, and there is no need to stir? No preservatives, artificial flavors, or colors
(4) Good source of Vitamin E (10% DV)

This really had me full of nostalgic memories from when I was around 5 years of age when I first was given a slice of toast with peanut butter and honey, but full of chunky peanuts perfectly roasted. This is now the only peanut butter my youngest has eaten lately which is great on toast and, of course, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Going to keep my eye out at the grocery store for this; just look for the Skippy jar with the brown lid!
