another problem. Does she do as she’s ordered and stay at work? Or
should she disobey government orders and break free to reunite with
to survive—but with Michelle and Jake by her side, not even a
contagious virus and a sea of the dead can keep her from…
With a twist and twisted plot from the off-set this reads as most outbreaks and zombie apocalypses go: The reality that ensues from any disaster is that it’s disorderly with understood needs to quarantine.
The first book in the AM13 Outbreak series is aptly named, Lockdown, the first stage / step taken when a disaster such as this occurs. Just like any first book in a series, the characters are built and the plot starts setting to help create the base for an entire series. For this, Lockdown does well with creating the “feel” of the situation. A contagious virus, AM13, creates havoc and the quarantines are failing due to the spread and the human mentality.
I tell you now as I have told my co-workers, if there is a radiation fall-out or any disaster while I am at work, I am ramming the fence, scrambling over it if need be and hiking it to my kids. The story unfolds and surrounds Leah, Michelle, and Jake as they begin their journey to breakout.
Do they succeed? Sorry, I don’t do spoilers! You won’t even figure it out reading the synopsis of the second book in the series as each one is written around the different stages of an outbreak surrounding different characters. So far, gripping start to the series I received for this book tour.

Stage 1, Lockdown, complete with utter failure to properly contain the contamination and stop the spread of the virus, AM13. Now sets the stage for those that have scrambled to survive while they make the decision to move-on or await what may happen, both scenarios have massive negative connotations.
Three survivors with vastly differing personalities with the exception of one, survival. Ethan is OCD, Alyssa the prepper, and Dr. Jones with the doom of failure hanging precariously over his head.
The second book of the series, Forgotten, pulls at the what-if strings a bit more than the first one and has more of a darker feel to it. It’s hard not to root any of the survivors on as the characters are well-written and the writing itself makes oneself thing “What would I do” throughout.
Follow along as they trudge through the apocalypse for their sanctuary.
